CWDA operates two packet nodes in Central Washington, "ELN" located north of Ellensburg, and "YKM" located Northeast of Yakima on Yakima Ridge. We also operate a packet BBS, and a Packet Cluster system based in Yakima.
"ELN" is housed in a DNR site at 6000 feet msl.on Naneum Ridge.
There is currently no user port at ELN. This site is for high level linking
between BBS, and Packet cluster systems in Eastern Washington.
The Callsign for ELN is N7HHU-8 in rememberance of Dick Umberger who built and
maintained the site until he became a silent key, September 11 1998.
"YKM" is housed in the Northwest Broadcasting site on Eagle peak on Yakima Ridge at 3000 feet Msl. The user port operates on a frequency of 144.93 Mhz and uses standard AX.25 protocol at 1200 baud. The KB7HDX packet cluster, part of the EWARG system, is available by simply connecting to KB7HDX. The KB7HDX BBS can be reached by typing "C" to connect to "Yakima" and then another "C" will connect you to the BBS.The Callsign for YKM is KB7HDX-8
